RUN

"Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown. Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. Here's a couple of videos I got at the campout we went to this weekend. It was great...very encouraging...awesome fellowship!

The lyrics to the song they were singing:

The part of the song that says "You took my place, You showed me grace at the cross where You died for me" reminds me of Barabbas in the Bible:
Matthew 27:16--"at that time they had a notorious prisoner called Barabbas". Pilate was accustomed to realeasing one prisoner, whoever the Jews requested. There was one named Barabbas who was a murderer. Pilate suggested that the King of the Jews, Jesus, be released....but the crowd demanded: "crucify Him!", the innocent One, and they asked for Barabbas, the murderer, to be released instead. "so Pilate, wanting to gratify the crowd, released Barabbas to them; and he delivered Jesus, after he had scourged Him, to be crucified" (Mark 15:6-15). We are Barabbas! We are prisoners, murderers, sinners who deserve death...But Jesus has taken our place, He showed us grace at the cross where He died for us!

So what is a "man"?

And keep the charge of the Lord your God: to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the Law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do and wherever you turn..." ---1 Kings 2:2-3
